Understanding (Comprehension)
This level requires you to build relationships between what you already know and new learned information, to create a better level of understanding and meaningful links. The links that are made allow you to have a higher level of understanding then just remembering the information.
Teacher RoleThe teacher should provide tasks for their students that require them to understand what they are remembering to extend their thinking. They now need to start making connections between what they know and what is new. An example of this can be instead of just circling an answer in a quiz, they explain their answer. This step requires students to use their understanding rather than their knowledge.
